Well, HP Pavilion DV6000 comes with vista. And many programs do not work in vista. So you may want to change It to Windows XP. Here s the steps for that.
step 1. Press F10 when boot and in SYSTEM CONFIGURATION and disable SATA Native Support [Else you'll get a error message that there s no hard disk found in your system].
step 2. Install XP as normal
step 3. Get the Drivers from

step 4. Download Intel 945 Express Chip set drivers from Intel for VGA drivers[in case if NVideo doesn't work]
step 5. Thats all. Enjoy.

I dont have options which let me change anything with hdd in my bios,i also have acer 8930 and pc desktop and in both i have these options but not in hd pavilion dv6000
